Tire Pressure

Would having a high or low tire pressure make my car drive rougher? What tire pressure do most of you recomend? Could my shocks be bad after 15,000? Need help.
I live in Michigan if that helps on tire pressure.

Annakin, welcome to the club....

YES, if your tire presure is TOO high it CAN cause your ride to be rougher....

Look in the door jam of the car...on the dirvers side....it has the recommended tire presure on a tag right there......

about 35 PSI.

I run 36 up front and 32 in back as opposed to the reccomended on the door jam (on an MP3) which is 32 up front and 29 in back.
Reason being I found some bad wearing patterns on the inside and outside of the tires; middle was barely wearing...pumped it up, better traction, more precise ride, better wear. Do a search and there is a bunch of threads on this floating around that are pretty informative.
Good luck:)

I am told that Mazdas are shipped with 45-55 psi in the tires. Part of the dealer PDI is to adjust this to the propor level. The reason for this is supposed to be that it allows the car to be tied down more securely. I have driven several driven several Mazdas before this was done and the car rides like a truck. If I notice that the car rides poorly during the test drive, I check the tire pressures and let them down to something near what is called for on the door tag. On the other hand, if the steering response is terrible, I check the tire pressures and if they are under inflated, I pump them up to the figures on the door tag. I usually spend the first few months trying different tire pressures and different proportions front to rear. Once I find a set I like, that is what I usually keep them set at. For the MP3, I settled on 34/34 psi. The front responses well, the ride is not bad (in Arizona) and I can toss the backend around if I want to.

I run 36/35 or 35/34 I like my pressures on the high side who cares about ride. Why get such a handling performance orented car and drive slopy tires?
