Timing Curve

can you log it or anything so you can provide us with the rough numbers that you are getting/using for timing with your boost and the like?

I will, I will, I just have to find the AC adapter for my laptop first.

In the meantime, can you make that spreadsheet?

Oh.. you were after me for the timing spreadsheet? I thought you were asking Tim. Yeah I should be able to cough that up tonight.... I owe Dave (Pro 5) it anyway...

You have to add the field yourself out of the list of options.
Which field? The only one I can maybe see doing it is the "Time Between Ignition", but I don't think it shows actual timing. I could be wrong, but I looked at a datalog last night with those fields on and saw the number bouncing around, but never saw it get in the 30's and saw a lot of zero's. I'll have to check again. When you get your inverter and do the mapping of it, can you see which field it is that shows that. I'll talk to Nick and ask him if there is a true timing readout.

Yeah, that's the one..."Ign Time". Mine shows somewhere around the 30's or 40's at idle.

Lots of zeros, eh? Hmm.

Idle is spec'ed by mazda at 10-18 degrees at idle.. I've pushed it as high as 20's... and I can tell you it doesn't work too wel ... so 30's an 40's is def wrong.

Damn. I'll have to double check then.

I tried scanning with my PDA OBD-II tool before, but the numbers I was getting were retarded (literally...in the negatives).

I forgot to post, but I verified with Nick that the MPI DOES NOT show actual timing. It will only show the modification it does over the stock timing. That field doesn't show the actual timing. It just shows the time between ignition pulses.
