I would appreciate it, as well as it would be beneficial for the quality of the thread overall. So if you can get it, that'd be great! It will also help me find any weak spots that I end up putting into my maps!Dexter said:Turf burn i can try to get you stock MSP timing if you still need it with my obdii board and digitmoto software.
(omg)igdrasil said:Well, at least I can tell you that the Protege5 run 39deg advanced @ 5200rpms
WOW!!!! That is a big difference from shawn's. If the J&S says you're cool, then so be it. Keep the timing in so you will make more power. So have you found out how close to stock these values are???TurfBurn said:Well I tuned the car for the most part. I started getting chicken toward the end and stopped pushing things further.
BTW: AFR's are about 13.9-14.7 up to 5 inHG and then 2 psi -10psi is about 11.3-12.2
Here's why:

You blew another one??????igdrasil said:Well...I wouldnt bother a lot with the timing.
What I think is that you may not need so much timing retard for up to 10psi if your fuel curve is rich.
I had 11 degrees retard when I blew my engine (went lean), enough retard good for up to 15-17psi.
The 30psi protege is running 20 degree advanced on his haltech.
Just be sure to have enough fuel.
yep...but this happened just like the infamous video "Oh David, Big Ass Smoke..."Bigg Tim said:You blew another one??????
Ahhhhhh fond memories....... Well not really but all I can say is there is no sicker feeling then hearing your motor let go like that.igdrasil said:yep...but this happened just like the infamous video "Oh David, Big Ass Smoke..."
the 1st 2 times was only piston cracks.
All 3 times caused when leaning the fuel curve.
