Thud coming from the back

It seems like every time I go over a speed bum or hit unleveled pavement at like 40, i hear a thud coming from my hatch. It sounds like the spolier is coming down and hitting something, but thats not it. Then I checked to see if the hatch was moving at all, and no luck. I can't pin point the sound. Its really loud...any input? thanks guys

its probably the flap that covers the hatch area.

Check the nuts on your rear ARB.

what do i check for when looking at the ARB. And what exactly is the ARB
Look at the picture in my post above. Then look under the back of the car and check the nut. Mine and several other's have been loose, usually the right for some reason.

Rotus8 - Thanks for the photo! I think I'm hearing the same thing and will check mine today..

I had the same problem -- there is a TSB for it -- when I looked it seemed tight, but the dealer said that it was loose and replaced it.

ARB = antisway rear bar or rear sway bar

that is a picture of the rear end link ... ive heard of people having problems of the nut getting loose .. my car was the exact opposite i had a hard time getting it off.

also check the rear sway bar, after i installed mines it was hitting something and i was getting a clunking noise. I looked under and it was hitting something so i just readjust and all was good.
