Those with TRZ Trans and Motor Mounts, please read

Hi Folks,

I just installed the above mentioned combo today and WOW! Lots of noise and vibration. Good for some, not sure if I can handle it. Question is two fold:

I assume most of the vibrations are from the Trans Mount? Do the vibes from the motor mount lessen as it breaks in or am I going to have to get used to it and deal with it. Also the TRZ Poly Dog Bone mount is reversible? Like it doesn't matter which way it goes in, right side up or upside down? Didn't torque the bolts but did Lock Tite them really tight. Can they be overtightened and thus would cause excess vibrations?

Sorry for all the questions. Also installed the E4 short throw shifter from PG. Great little piece. A little notchy and "stiffer" then stock. Hey just like the Cobb SRI whoosh sound that annoyed me at first, I'm sure these "good vibrations" will become tolerable or look for them in the classifieds soon!

Thanks

Both mounts will give you vibrations either way. You'll have to wait a good 500-1000 miles before they break in. After that, it isn't so bad (well, to me). And I believe the dog bone mount only goes in one way.

I felt the same thing, only have the dogbone installed.

From my experience, the vibrations got better after 1k miles. I also tried several different torque settings and i felt that 83-85lbs of torque was the best.

The first time it got installed, my friend used an air gun, which made the bolts too tight and i had a loooot of vibrations. I then used a torque wrench and did the right way, much better.

Make sure you torque the bolt again after 3 days or so.

I can still feel the vibrations, mostly on the 1k-2500 rpm range and when cruising at 80mph and you have to slow down a bit. I got used to it i guess though.

People say that the transmission mount actually helps with the vibrations, but your hear more tranny noise. I believe most of the vibrations are from the MM.
