wooowie. i need to learn how to wash under the hood. im scared. ;)

good luck with the valve cover. perhaps an electric sander would help make it go easier.

ground wires took me and a friend about 1.25 hours. trust the directions on when he says it gets hard, it gets hard! ;) i couldnt find how to pop off the wires in the second to last location so i had to screw it in 1/6 a turn at a time. that was a PITA.

but man, car seems quieter and more well behaved reving. me rikey :)

are you serious? now you are scaring me :(
electric sender???

you really shoulnt need an electric sander since it isnt painted in the first place, actually you shouldnt need one unless your doing a very big area, it may make it go a little quicker but is not necessary.

What I would do is once you have it off I would wash it with an abrasive soap or regular soap and an abrasive pad. Then with 400grit sand paper just make sure you cover all the areas, you should be able to tell where you hit and didnt.

maybe you might wanna hit it with a tack rag b4 ground coat, they are like 2 dollars at checker or autozone. not necessary again but makes sure the first coat sticks.

I am doing mine with the ground coat x2 and blue duplicolor anodized color x3. I find at 3 or 4 coats it really gets that gloss look like it has a clearcoat on it.

GL with yours and lets hope I dont touch mine while its drying like i did with the strut bar...hehe.

I painted my valve cover flat black not to long ago, basically, I used a ton of "Greased Lightning" degreaser..Got some 600 fine sand paper and went to town. Just be careful when you take your cover off..keep track of all the bolts and nuts..because I ended up dropping one into the crankcase..lots of fun..goodluck, the result is amazing

oh dont worry. you can get it done, its just its pretty simple until that point, where it takes some fandangling.

pop off the wires where the extra bolt goes and things should be better ;)

you must not be living on the east coast :D

East coast what to do:
1. take cover
2. buy batteries
3. milk/water/food
4. beer

wait...swap 1 and 4 in order of importance... :D

bah, isabell was weak!

still pretty strong, but not nearly as bad as people were expecting. it weakened alot before it even hit, had it been a category 5 when it hit, i wouldn't be sitting here typing right now at my beach house.

Ya Isabel is rather weak. I was here when Hurricane Andrew hit... the eye even passed over our area (kendall). Luckily our house was built in the early 70's back when people did good work. There was plenty of support throughout the house. Only one window broke. As for the rest of the neighborhood, it was a total disaster. There were a group of townhouses across the canal that were totally crushed. They had ceramic tile roofing that flew everywhere and shattered anything around it. Family members down in Homestead had their whole roof cave in and was a total loss. :( Andrew was a Cat4.
