The sound of rushing water!!!!

I have had my 09 Mazda6 GT, 2.5 into my service department about 4 times now. Upon start up it sounds like water rushing through pipes, then its gone, and on top of that, there this brown sludge in my overflow tank. The dealer has flushed the system out 3 times now, and today they replaced the water pump. They tell me that there is some setiment in the engine block causing the brown sludge.( its not a big amount) So now I will listen in the morning when I first start the car if the rushing sound is gone on start up, and I will keep an eye on the overflow tank for some more brown crap. Has anyone else come accross this problem?

It's not a head gasket. It's air bubbles in your heater core.

If it was a head gasket he'd be losing coolant at an alarming rate. Not to mention the pressure inside the cooling system would probably blow the top right off the overflow.

Another poster on this or another mazda form had a Ford fusion w/a crack in his engine block with the similar sounding flushing water noise - and I see another Ford fusion forum with people complaining of sloshing water sounds - engines are essentially the same so maybe related not sure just passing along information to help you figure things out.
