The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

No 6, unfortunately. :(

I wouldn't hate seeing a black Protege running with us tho. Still in our hearts, wishing it would have been finished.
Boo. What about MSM (could always modifiy a NB Miata I suppose)? Obviously we'd have to make some concessions just as long as it stays in control. It's no fun when everyone is racing 600 whp, AWD, 20B-powered Proteges.

We will see what GT6 ends up being.
Forza 5 :p But it will be interested to see how Sony reacts to the success of the Forza series (something it didn't do with GT5).

While that is cool, I can't stand the XBox, and I definitely can't stand having to pay to play online.
Everybody says that but it really isn't expensive. I haven't paid for XBox Live Gold in years. I just keep putting it on my Christmas list and someone in my family ends up buying my a yearly subscription, haha.

Gt5 wins hands down imo. More cars, better graphics, better gameplay. Only thing Forza has on GT5 is customization.

With how much I play video games, let alone online (about times a year online) I can't pay for that or ask my family to do so. I'd rather get car parts anyways.

Battlefield 3 online was fun as heck the week it came out though, I still love that game.

GT just seems so... sterilized I guess is the best word I can come up with. To me it just isn't as fun. IMO Sony spends too much on graphics and rights to cars they don't put enough into physics and realism.

Either way, I'm arguing this like I'm some kind of avid gamer, which I'm not so I guess this is all moot, LOL!

LOL, it's $40 for 12 months. I spent nearly that doing an oil change on my 2 last weekend.

that pretty much sums it all up right there. 100 more for a camera for the NSA and a less innovative controller that cramps your hands.

edit: AND a less powerful system that the only thing thats been advertised is the ability to watch TV on it.

I bought my PS3 for GT5, and waited and waited and waited, and it wasn't worth the wait to me. Good racing game, but not that much better than any of the previous GT's. I've barely played it, only have a couple of the licenses and only a handful of cars.

Forza 4 can't speak of, but I had 2 on the old Xbox and it was fun but in a more arcade-ish way.

Still a great idea Jon becaue it would be fun.

Just a regular NB with the Mazdaspeed front lip and rear spoiler. Small turbo, get the power around 240-250 crank, and it'll be close enough.

Opinions only. Be careful...

Exactly what I was getting at. I thought more people here were on XBox though. I hardly find the time to play anymore but I'd make a strong attempt if we were to organize this.

6Crew has some pretty organized GT5 sessions. These are the rules for the next session:

Ok, rules & regs for the session this Saturday are as follows:
Drivetrain layout: FR only
Power: 300hp max
Weight: 1100kg minimum in race trim
Tires: We'll be using slicks as usual in the races, so go ahead and buy med, soft and hard
Other: production only, no race cars or RM cars.

Tracks:
1) Suzuka
2) Grand Valley
3) Spa (depending on if everyone that shows up has dl'd the extra tracks)
4) Nurburgring GP track
5) Monza (no chicane)
6) Tokyo R256 (if we don't run Spa)

As usual the races will be a mix of non-stop and pit races. The non-stop races will be using racing med, and the pit races will require 1 set of both the soft and hard compounds to be used. However, unlike most races we will allow the use of traction control since the last time we had an all rear wheel drive race without it the race got.....ugly. Well, uglier than usual anyway. We'll start at the usual time (6pm central if anyone new is joining us), and I will be hosting (CKeffer on PSN). As for modifications to the cars; basically if I haven't said you can't in the rules above, you're free to modify as you please.

Jess, any chance you can bring out the beast to Menchies tonight? Pretty sure my father in law will be coming and he would certainly get a kick out of your car. He owns a 1970 MG Midget in BRG that we're currently rebuilding.

Wow, that's more involved than I was thinking. I guess "league" wasn't the best word to use. I was trying to come up with a fun way to pit the OH crew and their cars against eachother that doesn't involve risking bodily/automotive harm and doesn't break any laws.

actually those are the facts so far.
Neither is released so it's hard to say. In this day and age of corporate warfare pre-release specifics are just that. Hell, we do that crap in the aircraft engine industry. True comparisons won't be available and/or accurate valid until both systems have been out for a few months.

I love GT5 and I'm not a fan of the Forza series at all. I would be down to do a racing league or something like that.

I love Battlefield 3 (Played BF2 and BF:Bad Company 2). I originally got BF3 for my PS3, but then ended up buying it for PC because it's WAYYYY better on PC. Graphics are amazing on PC and you can play on 64 man servers (32v32). I can't wait for Battlefield 4 to come out.

i have an xbox with forza4, just dont have an internet connection at the house so i cant join in on the online races... i could race them and then just take pics of my times haha (peep)

So, who all is going to menchies tonight? Wife decided she wants to come, so all 3 of us will be there.
