The Ohio Auto-X and Track Event chat thread

Oh that's right. I forgot about apple time. Post up a thread to have a Mazda meet at the orchard, yO! And charge twice as much for admission and make a killing!

Pablo, do you have the link/info for Lakeland handy?

edit- blast, unfortunately I'll be out of town that weekend of the Toledo auto-x.

Will do.

Thanks for the link, Peaches. :)

Now I gotta email it to myself so it doesn't get lost. Then I'll get all excited I got an email. Then all disappointed it's from myself. Forever alone...

What brake pads are you guys running with good luck. I'm looking for a track/autox pad that will not be used on the road only to get to the track maybe. I'm going to use az blanks too

I had slicks at the time, same as you but your car is heavier (around 400 lbs) and you have more power so you'll be going faster on the back straight (I barely got to 115). If HP+ is not enough for you, look into HP blacks

Hell I could give their xr2:and xr4 a try. 560 for pads lol. Well it is the safety of my car

Considering the speeds you told me that you were achieving coupled with the fact that you are using slicks (i.e. additional grip to be used for braking), you really should be on a true racing pad.

Where did you get $560? $279 (front) + $179 rear = $458. Did you add in rotor cost?

You're only getting to 115? I'm in the 105-110 range with my N/A Miata.

Oh no I accidentally added the xr4 frons rather than rears.
I was touching 140ish each lap

They recommend XR2/XR5 front/rear for intermediate HPDE. Why did you mention the 2/4 combination?

I have the XR3 and XR5's on the Protege. If you order the pads, let me know and I will get you a discount. These pads are not mass produced and they do not have to be bedded. You have to have heat in them as well.

No bedding? Even with new rotors? I can see pads being pre-bed if they're not mass produced but they would still need to be mated to the rotors.

That's awesome about the discount. I'll probably switch from Carbotech when it comes time.

So the solo nationals are going on this week, a friend of mine who runs a STX BRZ posted this:

Yes, that's 0.712 covering the top 12!!! And 3.5 hundredths covering the top 3!!!

It's also very interesting to see so many different car and tire manufacturers.

I'll ask Ted what he tracked his MS6 with. Crazy bastard drove that car harder than his RX8.
