I will be working Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Years Day :)

My boss doesn't care that the office is clear, she's just happy that I'd rather work than get paid to sit at home and do nothing

Oh and I'm an accountant

I'm not working on Christmas day or New Years, but I am working both eves.

I haven`t had to do that in a long time, and when I did, it was tech support for businesses, which are mostly closed. We called them "bring a book to work" days.

Hell no! Won't be working 12/23 through 1/4. I work for GE - Aviation btw... better hope your planes' engines don't fail, LOL...

heh :) no kidding :)

I work at the corner of Glendale Milford & reading :) so i can see your smoke clouds from our front door :)

So now theres no excuse why i couldnt get a joyride in the RX7 :) *hint hint*

tell me i'm the only one working Christmas Day :/

the office is officially closed, but that wont stop me from getting work done :) fewer phone calls = more productivity

If not than its stupid to work.

Unless life sux and you'd rather be at work than home crying yourself to sleep.

nope, not getting overtime...and life doesnt suck...i just hate christmas...

If you're going for the christian peace and love on earth kinda stuff...celebrate it in March when jesus was actually born (and you actually believe he turned water into wine and could raise the dead)

OR

if you're all about the presents and commercialization...by all means go rack up the credit card debt (unless you're one of the few smart people who actually pay cash or budget for it, then you're gravy) and leave the whole religion nonsense out of it...

and yes, that comes with a bah humbug

oh and for those who will say "but it's about family and friends"...I don't need an over hyped commercial holiday to tell me to be thankful for my friends and family...i do that year round....

you're totally going to show christmas who's boss by working. that'll teach christmas for existing and giving your company an excuse to give you a day off work. hopefully next year they'll start cutting back on vacation days and other pointless holidays so you can come to work even more

Seriously, it's a free day of vacation! You won't be proving to anyone (or anything) that the holiday is becoming nonsensical. I agree with what has been said above, if you aren't getting paid double, or at least time-and-a-half there's no benefit to working when you be relaxing at home getting paid for doing nothing. If you have issues with the holiday then just don't acknowledge it and treat it like an extended weekend.

actually...i apologize for the rant :) That wasnt the intention (as san would like to point out) -- I was actually curious to see who else was working

and theres a reason i'm working - we're swamped and when everyone else is off, i get more done --no phone calls etc

I'm in Iraq right now and have worked every single day since Jan 29, 2009.
