The Mazda5 sounds of winter.

:
Mazda 5 GT
You know the cold winter is just around when the Mazda5 reminds you by the rubbery squeaks and grunts of the suspension as you drive off the drive way. Almost like reminding you its time to consider changing to winter tires.

It will be interesting to hear from 2007 and 2008 Mz5 owners if theirs make similar 'suspension squeaks' come winter time. Mine is 2006.

I was thinking exactly the same when I drove off this morning, after scraping the frost off the windshield.

Same here. It was -6C this morning as I creaked out of the driveway.....The only consolation is that it stops after a few minutes...

Is it creaking even after the dealer fix?

To be honest, the dealer fix resolved the creaking from the lower front suspension, however they told me that the current creaking is coming from my shock tower mounts and because I lowered the car they are not willing to replace the tower mounts. They claim that the suspension is too stiff and that is why the mounts creak.
I told the Service Manager that he was full of s****, especially since I've lowered many cars (some of them Mazdas) and never had this problem. Furthermore, I asked him why it is the creak disappears after the suspension warms up...He didn't have an explanation.
Nevertheless he refused to replace the tower mounts under warranty.....I in turn make sure the radio is turned up really loud as I drive out first thing in the morning.
I also have creaking from the Mazdaspeed camber adjustment plates in the rear, this they are going to replace for me next week under warranty.

Is it creaking even after the dealer fix?

I have a 2007 so never got the dealer fix. I don't find it too annoying, since it always goes away within a minute or so once the car has warmed up. It's a small flaw that I am willing to accept for an otherwise perfect car for my family's need.

I have a 2007, going into my first winter. I have read about the squeaks, so I have not worried about it...but it is really annoying that they have not fixed it on new production yet (mine was made Nov 2006). I'll have it to the dealer soon...

There has to be a design flaw somewhere. My friend's brand new vehicles don't make such noise. Dealership should give one of it's mechanics a mazda5 to drive during winter. Or car reviewers/journalists should road test the mazda 5 in January-to-February time period in winterlands.

Personally, my 07 5 hasn't done it yet but my 02 P5 used to do that and the engine was also very loud on very cold days (until it warmed up). My 05 Sentra was the worst though. Nothing compares to that....(smash)
