SVT Contour: My buddies new paint job.

A friend of mine along with some other friends repainted his car not too long ago. Excuse the cell phone pics. I showed him the pics of SevSev's car and he liked it, we used flat gunmetal instead of flat black though.

Hmm... I am mixed about this one. The car looks dirty when it really isn't.

My old roomate had one..they are Pretty stout running cars...and not to bad on the eyes either.

They weigh a little over 3000 pounds. Not too bad for 195 hp, and 165 to the wheels. I sure as hell know that mine really likes to scoot and ski-daddle.

That was one of my choices for possible first cars when I was 16...Used...the price was affordable but in the end the insurance would have been too high!

I had one as well. Blow the trans up while running it at the dragstrip. My was Maroon with gray interior. The interior sucked ass. Typical American cheat plastic and cracking leather. But it was quick and it would handle and keep up with my cousin's old 328i back in the day.

I really do feel the paint scheme but each their own. Atleast he saved money painting with abunch of his buds.

Yeah, the tranny's are waaay too weak, I blew my diff up taking off at normal RPM of like 2 grand...Loud boom and then I had a hole the size of my fist in the trans case. I luckily don't have dash warp, but my struts are shot so mine is a bit sluggish on the handling part. Hopefully in the spring I'll have enough money for Koni's and BG's or GC's...not sure yet.

That was the old paint job, 3 faces on the hood and 3 on the trunk.

Na, he doesn't really get on any forums. I had joined a long while back to post pics of his previous paint job, I think my cousin used to get on there too (he has a red svt).

The crappy pics don't really do the paint justice. Next time we hang out I'll get some better pics.

As far as the trannies on those cars go, hell yeah they're weak. He's on his 3rd one, on his 3rd motor too. I keep telling him about the dmd for his motor but he hasn't got it yet.

Props for friends. Not sure on the thick stripes though, seems a bit confusing. Hard to tell if it really flows with the car. I think one thin line would have set the two colors apart just right.

next time he blows a motor, swap in a 3.0 from a taurus. use his 2.5 svt top end on the 3.0 block. its a stronger motor, and it will be alot faster. plus the 3.0 duretec's are alot cheaper then his 2.5 svt motor.
