Hi folks,
I own a 2007 Mazda 5 sport. Like man yof you, I have had a variety of suspension and tire issues. With the exception of the front broken sway bar links (which I resigned to replacing on a regular basis), the car drives fine. At around 54,000 mi I had most of the suspension overhauled except those squeaky rear bushings which the shop said were ok, just squeaky. I don't mind the squeaking but what I do mind now is the noticeable knocking from the rear of the car when going over bumps at say, less than 30 mph. Do you think this is related to the bushings or something else? Is there a constant pattern of this noise developing in the rear of Mazda5s?
Some specifics- at around 54k we did the following:
The car also ate through tires until we went to a much less aggressive tread which seemed to fix tha problem.
So, is it the bushing that are responsible for he knock at the back of my car? Any sevice bulletins that address the knocking in the rear (not the squeak)?
Incidentally, I have never had the suspension issues with any of my other cars like I have had with this Mazda. I really think it would behoove Mazda to reach out to their customers suffering tire and supension woes if the want to keep those customers.
As always, thanks som much for your help.
Greg

- At 73,600 replaced rear and front sway bar links.
