Hi,

My 02 P5 wont turn over. I think the battery is dead. I got another battery but have no tools. I am from MA visiting GF but now she's gone home to Winnipeg for holidays.

I have to get back tommorow to MA, if someone could assist me in the morning I would be very apperciative. The car and I was on corner of Rachel and Clark.

I can be reached at 2821230

Word. Whats up Roman. How's things?

Try jumper cables? Push it down a hill? You are 100% sure it's the battery? Good luck man.

YO Roman i wish i could help but i have no idea how to do that, but i could bring you some tools if you know how? ciao!

Mad props to you John!

Just so you guys know, this guy actually came out to help me at 8 in the am.

As for what happened:

I am from MA and so its warmer and I was running 10w-30 oil. When in Montreal, the temps dropped, the oil got thick and its was too diffucult for the battery to turn over the engine. I tried jumper cables, tried a "booster" (battery pack). Because it was so cold and dark, and because I have no tools but a pair of small channel locks my options were limited. I called CAA/AAA but those mofos never came.

Final solution, bought a battery from Canadian Tire. Since I could not remove the old battery (limited tools, strut bar in the way) I first tried jumping from new battery to car via cable. no dice. went to sleep tired as hell. woke up with an epiphany - flipped the new battery UPSIDE DOWN and rested on the original in-the-car battery (posts not touching of course) connected the terminal to the new battery. Car started.

Lesson: Only when you realize that you HAVE to help yourself, do actually think about ALL options.

Again, john "FOCUS" is the MAN!!!

abientot
