Strange behaviour of Cosmo JCESE dash

The dials of both rev.counter and speedometer of my 1992 Eunos Cosmo JCESE CCS show this behaviour.

Anyone a clue of how to fix this?

just looks like you have a bad connection on the dashboard lights or the printed citcuit maybe going faulty.

either way you are going to have to strip the dashboard out and have a look
it could be a bulb !!,,, but as it is not in one area I think this is unlikely a bad connection looks the most obvious as it flickers just like when you have a loose bulb.

does it do the same when it is on idle and not moving?

When I start the car the indicator of the rev.counter is black, and the one at the speedometer switches on and off. As soon as the engine runs the rev.counter is lighted up and the speedo starts to flicker.
I've found a replacement speedo unit through Yahoo Auctions Japan which should be o.k. and I will install this one but probably not sooner than coming winter.

One of our guys has some curious dash happenings at the moment too! His is different to that though! It is likely the dash unit, but if your replacement doesn't take, try the TWS!

Ps , don't throw the old unit out! It won't be much longer and the threads will begin to be about how to repair the old units. We are heading there as the cars get older!
