*STOLEN WHEELS* On The Lookout

ahh who cars if he goes to jail. lets just break his s***! we can take all honda sized hand tool to his house at like 3 am on a wed and totally disasemble his car. we can make huge bank with his body parts on ebay...oh and the wheels look hawt!

Nice rims! They look better than the stolen ones.

You have an eye witness that saw that crappy Honda in her driveway at 3 am. 2 days later that car has exactly the same style of rims that you had.

What more does the detective need?

He should've put some little rubber wheels around the axle ends and driven around teh block.

Zero lb wheels-- lowest unsprung weight Protege ever!! Plus lowest Protege ever!!
And everyone could get full view of his blingin' Illuminas.

Okay, so wait. I just found this thread, but I'm a little confused.

So your wheels got ganked, your neighbor saw it, you found that Civic with rims like yours, took pics, your neighbor confirmed the Civic as being the one she saw at 3am after being shown the pics, and you identified YOUR wheels on THAT Civic based on some curbage that you recognized and the fact that some were missing decals that you know you removed.

Has anyone approached the owner of the Civic yet? Did I miss that?

Dyin' to know exactly what's up!

I took a look, at where the lives and stuff. "Borrowing" them back might be too hard.

The detective is supposed to talk to the guy this week.
I haven't approached him in person because I haven't completely thought out what my plan is going to be. I thinks it's a good thing that I haven't spoke to him because of what's coming down the road.

Just make sure you have plenty of dated pictures with the wheels on his car.

In the event that they mysteriously dissappear you have proof that he had wheels like them at some point and he would have to produce them for the court (if it goes that far). A non-digital camera that records the date onto the negative would be best. I would do this discretely before the detective speaks with him.

If he wanted to prove that he had the wheels before yours were stolen, he would have to produce older pictures of his car or a receipt of when he bought them.

Exactly.
I still have the receipt for the wheels AND about 100 people willing to testify that I've had them for a year.
I just don't want this guy to think that he's getting off scott-free.
I don't even care what happens to the wheels.

Aaah, okay.

As I know you've already been told a bajillion times, just remember to keep your rage in check. As thrilling as it would be to beat the guy's face in with a sledgehammer, it'll be much more satisfying in the end to see his ass arrested and dragged into court and whatnot. You're doin' a really good job at doin' things the right way and not going for 'vigilante justice' .. A lot of people wouldn't be so patient.

It'll pay off in the end!

ya but he's also like 16, a good kid, and has a clean record. if i were in his shoes i probably would handle it through the courts too.

yeah but you get your record pretty well wiped at 18

Just do it the right way and let it ride out properly. If the courts don't own him later, then so be it. Insurance is taking care of you. Yeah it sucks big time... but what if you do something with this guy, his car, or rims, and find out down the road it wasn't him... that would make you no better than the knob who stole your rims in the first place. But regardless... yeah it sucks but being the bigger man in the end is a much better feeling.

Yeah but someone should **** his car up just because it looks like that.

Why? It's his style. There are enough people on here with carbon fiber and wings enough.... and half the people on here think it is cool... NA cars with hood vents... The point of Carbon fiber hoods and panels originally was for weight savings on race cars... hood vents are for generating proper air flow over manifolds that need cooling or dropping engine bay temps from a hard worked motor... wings are for breaking up high speed drag pockets, or generating downforce for certain applications... yet any and all of these are standard "dress up" for half the people on this board because it is the style they like... so the dude with the civic has a style that he likes and is probably proud of... so you want to **** it up because you don't like it? Should I paint someone's CF hood with brake fluid to eat the epoxy because they are running 100 hose and never see a track and just wanted a CF hood to be cool?

(And yes I do think his car is ugly as all hell... but it's HIS car).
