Stock ecu sucks

Brought up the boost to 7psi to see how it would react. It does the same thing as when is was at 5 psi but worse.

It keeps a surprisignly steady 13:1 a/f but at 4300rpm it start going down and hits 15:1 to 17:1 right before 5200rpm. At 5200rpm it kicks back to around 13:1 to 14:1 and gives the car a lot of power in one jolt wich it keeps steady all the way to redline.

When at 5psi, same thing but doesn't dip as low. Can still feel the kick of power around 5000rpm.

Has this happened to you guys? Have you tested your setup?

fmu + stock ecu= low boost

Something is not hooked up right either the clamp or the FMU i would double check.

I checked the wiring and everything looks good.

Does anyone with a fmu of some kind have a wideband except for me?

I do, or should I say, I will when I will have my boost project completed. I hope you didnt detonate when wbo2 #s jumped that high

When I floor it in 5th, at approx 5000rpm, the rpm goes down a bit and then goas back up. I wonder if my clutch is starting to slip.(stock clutch)

theary1: when at 5000rpm goas a little lean and car looses power, clutch would grab hold again and drag the engin to turn slower and then the engin with enought force to move forward but not enough to make it slip catches the slack and keeps going.

Mazda2002-

What is your fuel pressure like?

Sounds like your your not getting enough fuel. I used to have an AFPR setup on my OBDII Miata (so I have a little bit of useless experience)

Also did you solder your connections w/ your FM clamp?
(and I assume you know about their recent purple/white wire mixup?)

P.S. I live in upper VT if you ever down this way...(w/ 2 boosted mazdas to play with)

Wire mix up?

If I hook up a voltage meter at the ecu end, what should I read while under boost?

Nothing for ignition timing.

I have the same issue. I heard a FPR will solve it. It's a glitch in the ecu for mazdaspeeds that aren't flashed. it's simply dumping fuel between 4000-5500 rpm.

During boost you should be seeing a clamp Voltage ~=.39V.

Are your connections soldered?

No they are not soldered, I used quick connections.(that were included in the kit)

Sounds like the same problem, but I have a regular ecu not a mazdaspeed.
