I couldn't find a proper area to post this...
Just wondering if anyone has installed, or tried to Install Sparco Fighter seats in their 3rd Gen Protege. I looked at the sizing chart on Sparco's website, and I compared it to the Torino Style seats that I have in my P5, and it looks like they would be too wide in the shoulder / chest area. But I figured I would ask incase anyone has tried and knows for sure.
My current seats are approx. 21 1/2" - 21 3/4" wide in that area, with about 1/4" between the seat and the B Pillar. The Fighters are 23.98" wide in that area.
I don't know if there's any way to shift the mounting points on the bottom of the seat to move it in towards the centre console a little bit. I know it would not be perfectly centered with the steering wheel if that was done. But we're only talking about an inch or so, so I don't know that it would make much difference. Might not be a good idea since then the seat wouldn't be centered with the air bag....
Anyway, just looking for feedback if anyone's tried it.
I know there are plenty of other seats that would fit (Torino 2, Siena, as well as other manufacturers other than Sparco). But I'm only asking because I have an opportunity to pick up some Fighters at a killer price.
