Sp23 Piasini ECU

Stock Ecu Reflash
Well ive just about made up my mind, going to get the Piasini Ecu tune. After some thought and discussion a 10kw gain with this tune is by far the easiest way to achieve such kw gain in one mod. Im sure everyone has there opinions on this, with n/a engine some may say is it worth it.

Im sayin My opinion = My money = My gains

After i get the tune and in my own time i will get a dyno done.

nice, post up the results, sounds like you are overseas. I've never heard of the Piasini here in the USA. Do you know if your ecu's are different than ours?

hey im in Australia, Piasini are an Italian performance company, Palerider and the Mps people here know about this. Im not sure if the ecus are the same firmware as i heard mention of 10 different firmware versions on the Mps models. Though im guessin probably less versions on the mazda 2.3ltr N/a engines.

do members here think it is worthwhile getting a pre ecu tune dyno. The gains of this tune are reported to be 10kw, though no n/a mazda in Australia has had their stock ecu tuned by Piasini.

I was wondering if the base functioning of the ECU will kick in??? Most ECU tunings look at A/F ratios and ignition timing. Now the stock ECU will always "tune" the engine though timing and A/F ratio depending on the fuel being used; it has it's own knock sensor and advanced/retards timing to a particular amount of knock. Does this mean that we can "tune" the timing in an advanced state, hence pushing the knock up a bit, hence the stock ECU senses the increased knock then retards the timing again????? Effectively this would be the stock ECU undoing the tuning that was done.

Answers anyone???

One way I can see around this is changing (reducing) the inputs with respect the knock senor through piggy back. In terms of a re-flash, maybe the ECU tuners have changed the knock tolerance to a higher level of knock.

These are a fundemental set of questions to which I yet have no informed answers.

One way to test for retaining a particular tune is to get the dyno tune done, then dyno it again in a month or two's time and see if the response is still comparable.

sp23: Congrats on your choice with Piasini the NA 2.3 with an intake gain 10-12 HP ......Best part is the cars responsiveness is leaps better...... Im guessing your going to HOT (wayne) who is a stand up guy and can answer all your questions... The NA version will be avalable in the States very soon! So check back with your results.

Hey ! how did your read session go?

I guess you already know ECu wasnt able to be read, just letting others know. It will be sorted just will take some time willing to wait. Are you having a problem with the denso ecu over there on the NA 2.3ltr?

Pics suggesting othewise state they are denso's. There may be of course variations. Here in Australia they are Mitsubishis.
Atm there has been no progress.

I have seen proof that the NA 2.3 runs a mitsu ECU, it has been confirmed. The mazda6 2.3 runs a denso unit here in NA.
