Someone please explain to me the deal with holding the TCS OFF for 10 seconds....

I'm actually a CX-9'er, but figured perhaps someone here can assist:
It seems Mazda does not trust me to drive around with TCS turned off, either that or as it is tied in with Dynamic stability control, roll stability control abs, and other stuff, it just does not have the ability to separate itself while driving.
If you turn TCS off, it turns itself back on once you reach 9mph.

My question is, in the owners manual, it references holding in the TCS button for 10 seconds, but I don't understand what this accomplishes? Perhaps my brain is just not smart enough to figure this out. So the system re-engages after 9mph, but it seems like it is saying if you hold the button in for 10 or more seconds, it will also re-engage. But it re-engages if you tap the button and turn it back on anyway. Someone please explain this to me:

If the TCS is OFF when the vehicle speed is
more than 15 km/h (9 mph), it
automatically activates and the TCS OFF
indicator light will turn off.

If the TCS OFF switch is pressed and held
for 10 seconds or more, the TCS OFF
switch malfunction detection function
operates and the TCS and DSC/RSC system
activates automatically. The TCS OFF
indicator light turns off while the TCS
system is operative.
?????????????????????????????

It does the same thing on the cx-7. Its stupid.

And yes, DSC/TSC/etc are all tied together.

I'm confused. I push the TSC button, and the light (TSC off) stays on. It doesn't shut off after 10 seconds. I'm assuming that it is off. Probably not though.

in the cx7 it turns off after 10mph not seconds.
