Some fun tonight.

Took out both my cars, Me driving my MSP and my roommate driving my Eclipse V6. We went to a near by construction site, where many people street race. We lined up and went just for fun. We start and I get a half car jump on him till about 45 he starts to pull I shifted to 3rd and was pulling and pulling and pulling till i was around 2 cars ahead and just shut down. I knew I would win but I thought it would be alot closer. :( I mean even though it is a sport-tronic the 02 eclipse gt has 200 hp 200 tq (~175 whp ~160wtq)stock, then add in about 10 more hp and 15 tq due to mods. I thought it would own me off the line? It was fun though cant wait to hit the track and get real number.

For what it's worth:

the other MSP in Omaha, pulled an adjusted 187 on the chassis dyno yesterday. Box stock.

The Eclipse is heavy. And the gearing is more suited to touring than all-out acceleration. HP numbers don't mean much, look at the whole picture, grasshoper.

Remember young Mazda-san, car mfrs will under rate thier hp and torque numbers to avoid lawsuits (I.E. Late 70's Chrysler was sued due to over rating thier cars ) and it is an ADJUSTED rating, not SAE. So take the 20 % parasitic draw from the tranny. 187 would equate to 151 SAE corrected whp.
