I've got this issue with my 2010 cx9. When I plug my trailer in and depress brake pedal they are not lighting up, however they work fine if trailer not plugged in.
Trailer globes are working fine as tested on another car and when it is all hooked up indicators work fine, it just seems that whenever the brake light circuit is closed they work neither on trailer or car.
I used a circuit tester and when testing it on brake light pin same thing when depressed brake pedal on car no brake lights at all, take off circuit tester brake light shows fine on the car.
Where would be my first place to start. Replace the trailer plug on the car or is it something to do with the wires themselves?
Any help would be appreciated.
