Seat Belt Minder Deactivation $50

If any of you people were to actually read your manual. It says in it that if you don't have your seatebelt on then it deactivates the airbag. So if your not wearing a seatbelt then your ****** either way :)

I had those automatic motorized shoulder belts on my 240 that almost strangled my drunk friend one time. But a chime? Doesn't it go away when you put the belt on?

Do what ever you want. that way when you wreck your car and die i can come get some spare parts for my MS3. Try to sideswipe the car. I might use the motor in my mustang. :D

I do find the seatbelt chime annoying, but i also figured out if you drive the car for a bit and then just STOP, the chime will turn off and never ding again. still have the light though.
On the flip side i hate that damn passenger air bag light. my dog always goes to the back seat first then once i drive he jumps up front. the damn light comes on and flickers cause he's JUST barely enough weight to trip the weight sensor.

In the end ,you can thank all the dumb ***** and lawyers out there for all the CHILD/adult proof safety cars we have today. Personally i don't care if you drive a econobox and don't wear your seatbelt. if you die , more air for me.
NEXT!!!!!
There should be a law though to be able to serious wound any driver thats in the fast lane, on a ******* cell phone, driving slow. Nothing deadly, maybe just a small .22 cal bullet to the temple. :D

stupidest replies evAr you guys are too damn critical

yeah I know

every single ******* seat belt minder thread, everyone gets their panties in their bunch preaching you should wear your seat belt, blah blah

shalezoom3's response to TGM3's post is just ridiculous... park the car, shut it off, turn it back on just to keep the A/C running but no seat belt beep??? WTF

look assholes, every single person here who wanted their s*** disabled NEVER said they want to drive around with no seat belt on, get it through your thick heads

I disabled my 3's seat belt minder MYSELF because I move cars around in my driveway once in a while (especially to wash the car), and the ******* chime is annoying as hell... I NEVER DRIVE THE CAR ON ACTUAL STREETS WITHOUT THE SEAT BELT ON... turning this s*** off DOES NOT turn it off completely, starting the car without the seat belt on still makes it beep 3 times.... then the seat belt light stays solid.... disabling this s*** simply makes the warning system work like any older car!

I, as well as others, don't need any electronic nannys in my car, thank you
now someone lock this sorry excuse of a thread

if your moving the car short distances delivering or canvassing for somehting i would probably have it turned off as well. But other then that i dont see a reason.

Ok heres when you would want to have the beeping reminder deactivated. Youre 50 yrs old, you just had a prostatectomy. The MD orders no seat belt or driving for 4 weeks until the interior sutures have healed. You live alone, so noone to drive you around. YOu have no choice but to drive and since you cant wear your seatbelt, becuase it may cause high intra abdominal pressures, you drive 4 blocks to the pharmacy to pick up your pain meds. But that damn beeping drives you nuts so you ask the dealer to deactivate it for the next 4 weeks.
THats a legit need for it. So yes there are some reasons for shutting it off.

^Wow at those posts...

Anyways, to answer the original post, dealer didn't give me anything for "goodwill" service either. I brought my car in at 3000 kms thinking my car was still so new and my dealer would take care of me. I even phoned in before hand to ask them if it was worth bringing it in and they of course said it was a good idea. I guess I was naive.
I brought it in b/c I got stuck in the snow in my neighborhood and had to get a push from some neighbors. After becoming unstuck and spinning my tires on the ice, I realized my ABS and hand brake lights stayed on. Once I turned the car off and turned it back on, the lights went away. I was scared that maybe I pulled/ripped a brake line or something in the snow so I called the dealer as soon as I got to work. Took it in the next day and when I got back they charged me 60 bucks "to look at it". I wasn't happy so they finally agreed to give me a free oil change. I guess it offset it by the $40 oil change but I'm getting away from stealerships as soon as my free oil changes are used up.

your dealership wasn't supposed to do that, not while your car is still under warranty
