save current NAV location as favorite on a 2016 ?

is it possible to save current NAV location as favorite on a 2016 CX-5 ?

I see under INFO button there's a "Where am I?" select which will show the geo-coordinates but there's no option to save as a favorite......
and edit the name later when I'm safely stopped

there's a lot of times when traveling when I pass places that looks interesting and I want to save the location but the NAV doesn't seem to allow this....
the old type Garmin standalones worked very well for this, just need to tap the map and then save current location into favorites.

Yes you can. Here's one way to do it (there may be others).

Go to Favorites (* button to the right of the Command knob)

Select the Navigation tab at the top right of the screen (I use the Command knob to get there)

Select Add/Edit Navigation Favorite from near the top of the screen

Select Add Current Location

I just tested these steps but the car is in the garage so I had no GPS signal and the unit wouldn't complete the last step. I'm sure it will once a GPS signal is present.
