I am looking at getting a roof carrier, a Thule or something like that, for my Mazda 3. I would imagine that a Mazda-made roof rack would be the best option for a roof rack, anyone have experience with them that would lead me to get a thrid party rack?

Also, anyone put a Thule or Yakima box on their car that covered the antenna on the roof? I have the NAV system built in and I am afraid that any roof carriers would cause problems with the GPS signal reception and accuracy; anyone dealt with a scenario like this before?

Thanks

I bought the Whispbar setup before Yakima bought Whispbar, back when it was still an Australian owned company. The bars were easy to install on by 2010 Speed 3. I then used a pair of Thule Echelon bike carriers on the top. No noise when I drove with the bars on at highway (or faster) speeds. It was an awesome setup, but a bit pricey. I wish I had some pictures for you, but I don't. The bars are pretty low profile and bolt directly into the roof.
