has anyone taken out the rear deck enclosure that holds the amp and the sub? i wanna fit a bigger box in there but i cant seeing that sub enclosure sits so low..what did u guys to remove it.. is it just those screws and a few bolts?

Yeah, I just removed mine a few weeks ago. Just unbolt the entire enclosure from the black metal brackets holding it in the trunk. If I remember right there are 4 of them. Then just slide it towards you and out of the trunk........presto!

Correct, just unbolt the box from the brackets.

I still have not decided what I'm going to do instead of this box. Seems like that thing weighs an awful lot for just being an 8" sub and a little amp.

When I took my stock box out I thru it on a scale it was 35 Lbs. with the amp and sub. That's not too bad. With the stock box replaced with a larger amp and a 12" sub the back of the car actually sits lower. I didn't weigh them first but I'm guessing they weigh alot more than stock.

That's it, 35lbs? Seemed heavier than that. Yeah, that's not bad at all.

I probably won't put anything beyond an 8" or 10" sub in this car. I'm not as big into the stereo thing as I use to be. I've got all kinds of amps, subs, crossovers, signal processor, etc type things laying around. They use up too much room and weigh too much. :)

i think my sub is blown so it has been off for a while. The sound system is pathetic. I am waiting to make a fiberglass enclosure that replaces the stock and holds a 10"

Whats the stock system sound like without the stock Sub/Amp ?

hold the top left button on the head unit and it will turn off the NF. then you can hear what it sounds like without the amp/sub.

It's just missing the additional sub-base. It doesn't sound "bad" though.

35 pounds isn't that bad I guess, but isn't the stock sub 8 inches or something? My 12 inch sub and box probably weighed in at 45 pounds with the speaker in it. Gotta love fiberglass.

Yeah stock is an 8" sub. 35 Lbs. was with the box, sub and amp. I don't even want to think about how much weight I added to my trunk. It took awhile for me to get everything done and I had the all the trunk audio, rear seat, plastic from inside the trunk, carpet, spare ect. out of the car. I drove a couple days like that. You could feel the difference driving but not enough to have no speakers back there :)
