really bad studder

Okay just had clutch, flywheel, starter changed. While it was at the mechanics I had him go ahead and change plugs, coils, oil and such. Driving the car home tonight as I was getting on the interstate I decided to get into the throttle a little to get up to speed. Anything over 1/4 throttle at any rpms the car just falls on it's fave and studders like it's not getting fuel. I'm thinking it could be the fact that he used platinum pregapped plugs. Not 100%, I searched and searched for awhile on here and couldn't come across much besides the plugs or possibly bad turbo. Could someone help me out?

It doesn't sound like the plugs. I had a similar incident happen to me once. I had just finished installing a new exhaust manifold, and went for a spin. When I got on the throttle, my car did the same thing you described. At first I thought I may have blown a valve seal or a head gasket. But upon further investigation, I found that my cold pipe blew off at the TB. I put it back and tightened it down and it fixed the problem. If you just had a mechanic working on your car, it's possible he didn't tighten down all the couplers and such (which is why it's usually best to do the work yourself). I'd check over your piping first and foremost, and see if you're leaking air somewhere between the MAF and TB. If it's your turbo, you should be able to see some anomalies on your boost gauge. Or you can always pull off your inlet pipe and and check the turbine. Also check your hot and cold pipes for oil.

No boost gauge for this guy I'm still in the process of getting the issues worked out on it.

So I checked on the plugs he put in. They are gapped at .44 instead of the .34 it's supposed to have in it so I'll be pulling them and changing that. While under their I'll check the turbo piping

Totally sounds like a charge pipe loose, or cracked. Though its mildly concerning you boost a p5 im assuming by the sig, with no boost guage. Duuude. Brave. Do you monitor you afr or exhaust temps to keep an eye on things?

Sounds like incorrect spark plug gap to me. Gap them to .028-.030" not .034. And you don't necessarily need a boost gauge, my car has never had one.

No I didn't boost a p5. I sold my p5 years ago and came across a msp at a good price. Now I'm working out the kinks.

Any luck yet? That sounds exactly like what happened to me and it was one of my cold pipes came loose
