I just returned from lunch and found that the remote thingie is not working properly.

When the lock button is pressed twice, lights should blink and the honk will go off once. While mine does lock, there was no flash and honk. All other functions are fine. (ie. when unlock, it still blinks, and panic button still works)

Anyone here has the same problem? I know this is not a big deal, it just does not feel right without the honking and the blinking.

P.S. I did have a Clifford G4 immoblizer installed 2 months ago. maybe it is causing the problem?

okay....just so you know...you MUST hit the button the second time within 5 seconds for it to flash and beep the horn...other wise it just locks the doors. Just thought I would throw that out there....in case your routine for locking the door had changed....try it.

Maybe...

Sometimes, if your tailgate is not closed properly (something sticking it out, or not allowing it to close all the way)...That will stop the little honk noise...

I use my car for work, and I am always loading/unloading stuff out of the back...This has happened to me a few times. If you quick click it twice, it will lock the doors once, but you wont get the confirmation honk sound...I usually have to go back, fix my stuff, and then shut the door again. Once you do that, you should get the honk...

Hopefully, thats all it is, just one door that might not be totally shut!

sir nuke, thnx, but i did double-press the lock button, and it was the non-beep and non-blink that worried me. thnx anyways.

WELL DAMN...that was my other guess...lol oh well...no worries...you got it figured out....and you now know if you don't get the confirmation beep...that something is a miss.
