RANT: Zoom Zoom

Is it me or is this not the stupidest slogan ever? I remember laughing when I found the "Zoom Zoom" stickers that came with my MP3 in the glovebox.

The song, the kid... yech.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Mazda, but that s*** just gets annoying.

Chris

Speaking of VW...is Zoom Zoom dumber than Fahrvernugen??? THAT was dumb!

Yeah, but two dumb slogans don't make it right!

I agree that the "Zoom zoom" campaign is bad. Actually, just the "theme" song is bad; I think the footage and the way the cars are presented is OK.

Personally, I don't there are ANY mass-marketed car commercials/ad campaigns that are worthy. Maybe Acura - I like the way that they make "stories" out of their commercials - show customers WHY they should be driving one - empathy works wonders.

my friend always busts out his 5 minute long rendition of "zoom zoom zoom!!!! yah! yah zoom zoom zoom! yah zoom zoom zoom!!" whenever we talk about mazdas

lol

Volkswagen used "dah dah dah" but I don't know about "zoom zoom zoom"

i dont know, i thought i remembered something from an ad in the 70s or something. i could be quite wrong.

Well, I suppose it's possible that I hadn't heard about it, since I was born in 1981

actually the hole point of zoom zoom is that it gets stuck in ur head, thats why they have the ghey ass oscar myer commercials. so that when ur at the store you see the logo first thing you do is start singing that song, same thing with the my balogne has a first name etc etc etc.. it may be stupid for those that dont understand what the advertisers are thinking. the whole point is that you make a identification with the product one that sticks with you.

and about the acura commercial, um.. pretty lame, behind him is a one bedroom effeciency apartment, infront of him is a cubical blah blah blah, but right now is pure bliss for this man cuz he's driving an rsx? wtf? so its saying becuz you have a bad life, shity home, bad appartment, you need to have a rsx to make you feel good? if a guy is living in a one bedroom apartment more than likely he cant afford a rsx LOL.

but i must say the new pontiac grand prix commercial were the black guy is driving and shifting through using the sports shifter, and his kids are in the back on the gameboy advanced then he stops and says I WIN! lol thats great. Or that new dog food commercial were the dog is dancing around now thats just a commercial that will never leave ur head. And when i get a dog thats prolly the only dog food i'll feed it.

oh also anyone like the new tribute commercial. i thought that was pretty cool.

Hey bud is this the Zoom-Zoom thats off the Only The Strong soundtrack, or is it the actual Mazda theme?

all i know is that i ******* hate those god-damn chevy - 'like a rock' commercials..................

wtf are those about? 'hey, im a rugged manly-man. i like to eat raw red meat, therefore i have to drive a chavy silverado.'

gay, just gay......................

actually all truck commercials are retarded (ie - toyota where the guy jumps in the frozen lake and catches a fish with his bare hands)

yeah its the one off the only the strong st, i couldnt find the mazda only one which doesnt have that samoan or whatever language on it.

How about Ford's new one:

"If you haven't looked at a Ford lately, look again..."

um..I think that one speaks for itself...
