Radio stays on

Not in our Mazda but in another vehicle (05 Honda Pilot) the radio stays on after the vehicle is turned off and doors are closed. Radio plays for 30 sec to one minute.

Any ideas what might cause this?

Not a problem. That was the way it's designed.
Are you sure?
I search the Pilot forum for that. People don't think like you do.
In fact, this sounds like the A/C blasting issue of CX9s.
It could be a relay problem.

It's called Retained Accessory Power. Scroll down to Comfort and Convenience.
I own a 2008 Honda Accord that has that feature as well. Basically for a short set amount of time or until you open the door, power to the radio, accessory outlet, and power windows work.

Interesting. Is this only on newer Hondas?
My 2001 Odyssey did only for windows.

It's not a retained power issue.

We owned the Pilot since this past summer when we got the CX-9. We sold the Pilot to friends who recently said this issue cropped up. The radio stays on even when the ignition is off, no one in the vehicle, and the doors are closed. They could hear the radio on as they walked away from the vehicle.

It never did this when we owned it.
