Radar detector questions

I'm planning on getting a radar detector, but I'm worried about the blind spot monitoring system.
It will keep beeping the detector, when something is on the blind spot?
Another question it would be, any input on which detector to get for city driving, avoiding false alarms and no internet connection required?
I'm thinking about the Escort Max.

BSM will not effect the detector at all.

It probably isn't an issue anymore but years back the radar cruise on the Infiniti's would reportedly set off LIDAR alerts on some detectors.

I have an Excort, no problem - I believe they are on different frequencies.
