has anyone put in a ractive air intake? if so how so you like it? there about $60.00 and can have a full cold air pipe put on that can bring in true cold air. Would love to save $$$ but also don't want to wast$$$!

My friend has the ractive intake on his MP5. It performs well like the injen and aem but it is very loud compared to the injen intake. for a low cost solution i dont see why you wouldnt get it.

Hey Jasper......I have a Ractive Intake in my P5 now......and its a great mod for an excellent price. I felt a better throttle response to my car and it growls around 3000RPM......
And the Ractive might look small, but this baby has a loud sucking (hissing) sound when you rev your car or turning off your car...........
You'll love it...
So you mean if you pay 60$ more you can buy a cold air ??
Well, if its only 60$ more, go with the cold air than........I would....My own opinion......but trust me on this.....Ractive Intake is an excellent mod....I didn't regret putting it on....
O yeah...one more thing......If you do plan on buying the intake and installing yourself, check out the other thread about installing the Ractive.......Becoz I know myself and other people have tried to install this them self and had a problem with it. The pipe tends to hit the brake resouvoir everytime you start your car or when you accelerate. But if you get it installed in Mazda, they do a fine job. And you gotta know where you have to put the metal clip that secures the intake. The intake kit should include it.
If you don't put the clip in the right place or if its not tight enough, your intake will hit the brake res.
Anyway.....I think I typed enough...haha.....If you need further help, just post it or ask me. I know a lot about this Ractive Intake becoz I studied a lot about it. Good Luck..........

thanks

I think I will order mine tomarrow!! as far as the cold air part you could make it as well, reactive "Extra piece" mounts to the air filters heat shield and then there is a black "ugly" flex hose that can go down by the wheel well you might want to look into it but I will run with out if first just because:D thanks for the info love the pictures!!!!

Your welcome Jasper......thats what this forum is all about.....one helping the other.......So when you get the Ractive......tell me what you think.............
About you said you love the pictures.......what pictures ??

Jasper.....just to let you see the rubbing problem....
The picture below shows my intake. And there is a blue arrow indicating where the rubbing occured.

And if yours rub, don't think its okay and drive around, coz you might rub yourself a hole !! haha.....

I have an Ractive too. It works fine, but yes there was rubbing. it was quite the PITA to not get it to rub. However, it beats blowing $200 on another brand intake. BTW, where can you get it for $60?

Anyway, I went with it primarily BC I didn't want to spend too much money on it since it wasn't gonna be there once I went turbo.

Party on.

about the "pictures"

in the forum you sent me to there was a fix at the end of the forum by ChopstickHero and it had gr8 pix on how to fix the rubbing. bc no car should get rubbed more than the driver
:p LOL anyway i can the kit from a local guy for $60 with a k&n filter or for $30 more get the ractive heat shield filter witch is what I think I am going with!!! I will have to post my cars picture, I have the coolest tint job in town!!! but I don't think my custom chrome flames in the tint will show but I will send some to who ever wants to see:D later
