Dunlops Saved My Life

Well, me and two of my friends were going for a ride. I tried to take a cloverleaf(downhill mind you) at around 110 km/h when the back wheels gave out grip. We spun a perfect 180 and luckily there was no one near us. Even though i lost control, i still felt like i wasn't going to crash. Though the tires skidded out, i still had control of the car. It felt kinda cool, but its something i'll never do again. I'm pretty sure i just found the limits of the car. So thats the last time i do that again.

That was a very dangerous thing to do. I'm not sure of how your area looks like, but next time be a more careful man. I'm glad nothing happened to you, I'm not sure if the guys could handle having another member being hospitalized. Next time you pill a stunt like that, make sure you have some very sticky tires. I had a similar 180 spin incident in my MP3, but it was in a wide open turn and I wasn't driving aggresive. My factory Dunlop SP9000's were pretty much bald and the street was still wet from a downpoor we had earlier that day. Anyhow, I made a simply turn at about 20 mph and the bald dunlops go out on me just as I hit the little apex and my car spun out. Pretty scary, but once I replaced my tires it never happened again.

The following is a public announcement from the Fellowship of Insurance Payers Against Rate Hikes Due to Incompetent Drivers.

Learn the limits of your car at an autocross or an empty parking lot with no curbs or other obstacles.

Seriously...glad you didn't get hurt. The tone may be sarcastic but the message is meant to be serious.

Peace...(hippy)

How do you draw this conclusion: Racing Harts Saved My Life

i was just saying that the harts stuck as soon as i braked hard. Other tires probably would have skidded and ran me off the road. Like I said, I was a major dumb ass and that was definately the last time i try something stupid like that:(

That's interesting....because Racing Harts are your wheels....not your tires. It would be kinda difficult for your Racing Harts to "stick". Learn your car AND how to drive.

Too bad the faulty connection between your brain and your right foot almost took your life. Or if your prone to doing s*** like that too bad the tire caught grip before you launched off the cloverleaf...

Whoops....my mistake. I guess i should have said the Dunlops(hand)

And flame me all you guys want. I know it was a stupid idea. And like i said, i sure learned from my mistake. I got off real easy and lucky to be alive.

Also, to Humvee.... It was the cloverleaf on the corner of Pembina and the perimeter.

yeah, i guess americans don't have cloverleafs. They're like overpasses....sort of. Just don't know how to explain it?

 The Dunlop SP9000s on the MP3 are damn good tires. Not as good as some of the others on wet pavement. But for dry pavement they are awesome.

I'm guessing he's referring to the Dunlops on his car, and has probably never driven an MP3. In which case, HE would be the one who was (owned)

:D
