Race Pipe?

Is there any gains to be had with just the race pipe on a stock exhaust? I don't want to put a Down Pipe on until the warranty runs out. The RP could be uninstalled easily for dealer visits. There would still be the bottle neck with the stock DP so is there any HP gains with just the RP?

Has anyone Dynoed with just the RP?

maybe around 10hp if you are doing exhaust do dp + rp combo or full exhaust if you are looking for hp gains

I noticed a diffrence..it seemed to excelerate faster and more wheel spin in 2nd gear,And the sound.Im guessing it adds about 5-10Hp.

The butt dyno documented good gains from my race pipe. Even my girlfriend, only being a passenger noticed quite a gain. It's makes your exhaust tone nice and deep too which is a plus. It's a mod well worth the money.

I'm still waiting on my corksport race pipe from protege garage, should be shipping out this week. I just want the exhaust to be a bit louder but it probably won't be much louder.

ne1 who has just the race pipe on the stock exhaust, how is the loudness of the the exhaust? still able to maintain a conversation w/o screaming?

also, is there ne difference from brand to brand on these? i mean they all seem like the same to me, so i figured i'd just go w/ the corksport since that appears to be the cheapest....

i will be putting mine on the stock exhaust, no dp. i will let you know when it's installed. but i probably won't have it for a week or so...
i also want to remove one, if not both of the cats and possibly the muffler as well

oh, and i will be getting the turbo xs rp, which has no hangers and has a flex fit pipe. the corksport was the other one i was looking at, which has hangers and does not have a flex fit pipe...hmmmmmmmmmmm

i would go with the corksport. sms also makes one, but i know nothing about that s***

I got mine in the mail, should be putting it in later on tonight (4pm-ish) when I get home from work.... I'll post up when I get it done. Only other performance mods are cobb sri, tsx hybrid, cs inserts.....

You will probably be gone a while, it will be harder to get out of the car now. Do not forget the ignition restarts allowing ecu to recalculate; the increased flow and and cooler exhaust temps! Have fun, I anticipate a chuckle or two. The sound and a bit of performance

i ran a RP on stock exhaust for a long time. there is a good gain from it. spool up got faster thats for sure. just ask my bald stock tires !!
