you can purchase a LOC (line out converter) that will transform the speaker level outputs from the head unit in the 3 to rca outputs so you can hook aftermarket amplification up. this one is not only one of the cheaper ones on the market, its also of the highest quality and best reviews:
very simple to hook up in an afternoon once you get the stock head unit out from the dash and select the 2 channels of speaker wires you choose not to use, which is generally the rear door speakers.
