Question on Keys for 2010 Mazda3 Grand Touring with Tech Package..

my daughter and i are shopping for her first car and have found a car we think makes sense to purchase..2010 mazda3, grand touring with tech package. the car is at a used dealer and unfortunately they only have one of the 'smart' keys with keyless entry, etc. it sounds like getting a second key is going to cost up to $250 including programming at the dealer (have to confirm exact cost) which is a ton. anyway, my question is whether we can just buy a regular 'dumb' key/fob for the car as a backup key, and how much would that cost and does it have to be set up by the dealer as well?

thanks in advance...

As far as I know, as long as you have the POD with you, you can use a regular key.
It's possibly I am completely wrong, but I swear I read that somewhere.
