Q about E manage

Ive been looking at the E manage as an inexpensive means of adjusting fuel, and a quick search has shown me that a few other people around here are already utilizing the Greddy unit. But, after reading some info on the E manage unit on the Greddy web page Im a little confused. The E manage apparently alters MAF signal in order to adjust fuel, I thought this was a non-valid option for the Protg as altering MAF messes with ignition timing, and is no good for closed loop operation (when the ECU switches over to calculating fuel addition based on O2 sensor signal)?

Also, Ive heard that the Protg will eventually learn around a unit that simply alters MAF signal? So how are people getting this piece to function adequately, when apparently it should be susceptible to all the same problems that make the SAFC a poor choice for a Protg application?

A few more quick questions: The 2L Protg has a 0 5V MAF sensor correct? Does the voltage output increase or decrease as flow increases?

In the basic form of the e-manage it does alter the MAF signal to control fuel as also

the MPI tuner, but with the extra harnesess it can directly drive the injectors and

control timing. Needed also is a voltage clamp for the primary 02 (Flyin Miata, Essential

Speed, and also Greddy has just released their own). And the voltage increases as

the amount of air flow increases on the MAF sensor.

Thanks Funktown P5.

One more question for any of the E manage users: If I were to use the E manage to directly drive my injectors (using the harness FunktownP5 mentioned), would the unit still be able to alter MAF signal at the same time?

My plan would be to incorporate a 0 5V MAP sensor and alter the output signal, using the E manage, until it matches the output pattern of the stock MAF (eventually doing away with the MAF altogether, which would allow me to continue my efforts towards ITBs).
