Protege Re-calls

Hello everyone,

Ok I was curious to know does anyone else know about this Protege re-calls from only the 2002 and 2003 models? I got a letter in the mail saying my protege is being re-called because of an oxygen sensor in the exhaust system? Does anyone else know or heard anything about this? This letter is legit, I am just really curious.

I wouldnt worry about it, the O2 sensor isn't a big thing. Just call the closest dealer and see what they say. Other than that the car will be fine.

Did you get the letter from Mainway Mazda? Just give them a call and see what they say.

Why yes 99 Pro I did get the letter from Mainway. lol I gave them a call and apparently they want to look at my baby..so I guess I will find out.

I haven't heard about the recall on o2 sensor and exhaust system yet, but there IS a recall on emissions system on 2003 protege's ranging from March 2003 to August 2003 (ViCS recall).

Call Mazda U.S.A. 1-800-222-5500 and ask them if your car was recalled. Be ready to give them your VIN number.

I also got a letter about a recall, but it wasn't about the O2 sensor, it was for the intake manifold shutter valve and it took no time to get the dealership to take care of.

yep the shutter valve butterflies are the ViCS system. Good to hear you got that taken care of.
