Protege HO alt

Wondering if anyone knows if this specific alt would in fact work in a 2002 protege and if I would have to do a flash of any kind on my ecu for it to work. I plan on upgrading the big 3 to 1/0 guage and I'll be running multiple batteries as I'm working towards running ~4-5k between subs, highs and mids. Thanks.

Being that it says 2.0/2.3, Its probably for the Mazda MZR engine's. not the older FS's.

I know Maniac Motors makes a upgraded alternator for the FS, and its actually quite a bit cheaper.

Thanks, I've checked out the maniac one already, it's only a 140amp whereas the mechman would've been a 220 amp. Also been in contact with one of Ssa's reps and he said they might have a mechman coming out for the protege in the new year product line.
