Project: 2008 5 Sport

UPDATE:

Sub and Amp installed. JL audio 12" W0 in a sealed box and a Rockford Fosgate 500-1 amp with external sub control.

Drove around enough today to give myself a headache. So its loud enough. hehe.

I spliced into the 12v power outlet in the rear on the driver side for the amp remote. Works great.

I also spliced into the rear driver speaker for the signal. I used an converter to get my RCAs for the amp. Works great.

JL sub is awesome. Quality is top notch.

RF amp is set VERY low. I bought the bigger amp anticipating I would get tired of the setup, and if I ever wanted to upgrade, I would just need to turn up the power.

ALSO:
Went a got a quote to get the roof wrapped in gloss black vinyl. $200 out the door with 2 year warranty.
So Ill be getting that done soon as well.

Pics coming after vinyl is layed!

UPDATE:

I just hope that oven only gets used for projects only, yuck! lol

Yeah i was thinkin about that when i was doing it. But after i was done it was nothing to worry about. Only set to 200 degrees and for about 20 min and the light really doesnt get THAT hot. Just warm enough to loosen up the silicone. I was waiting to get some foul odor as well but nothing happened there either.

more tease....

Nice. Is there enough sealant left to where you can reheat both halves and stick it back together, or will it require additional sealant of some sort?

I think you missed my point. No offense, but if you cook in that oven you should probably clean it once in a while. I made the joke because I thought it was a craft oven, I know a few people who have ovens just for powdercoating and things like that.

it's not dirty, it's 'seasoned'.

Did you replace the stock speakers when you did the sub?? I'm looking for info on which wires are positive/negative in the 5's

Yumm, melons and mangoes. Now that I see it, wife would be extremely happy to see an opened headlight in the kitchen, you are a brave man, LOL

Pretty sure those are avocadoes, not mangoes :p

In all seriousness, we want an update!

OK, ok, people... patience.

Looks like im gonna have to put the roof job on hold for a few weeks but the lights are done. I also installed some window visors.

I had the side skirts installed. I used double sided tape instead of drilling holes for the push-in pins. It held for about 2 days then started coming unstuck so I pulled them back off until I can get the holes drilled.

And how come the more I look at this car, it seems as if the ride height is increasing!?!?!

On my mind at the moment:
H&R springs
Mazdaspeed3 Camber arms
