If you know of anyone who can benefit from building an engine with Solid lifters for Turbo, let them know or let me know where to post this advertisement.

I am putting up for sale my custom regrind cams. Please Read fully as they are not for use with the OEM Hydraulic lifter buckets the KL engine uses.

Colt Cams did many custom cam re-grinds to the performance market of the Mazda MX6 and Ford Probe community. I got a set of Tri-Flow cams ground for turbo and also another set of the Tri-Flow turbo ground for SLA (Solid Lash Adjuster buckets). At this point, I won't be going this path and stay with the engine I have as it is.

You can use an inner shim kit that I bought from Chikara motorsports that Miata guys convert the HLA to SLA. You would best have the heads off the engine and let a machine shop check the valve tip & grind to suit the solid shim. OR You can use I believe Ford Focus Solid lifter buckets which are provided in many size to adjust the lash. If you go this way, you can install and shim with the heads on the car. (These Focus lifter buckets work only on KLDE heads and half the KLZE due to the larger lifter buckets on Intake valve side. You could use inner shim on half the head if need for ZE)

You will want to change the Friction gear spring + friction gear nut to the updated design, or use your own existing updated spring+nut. Maybe a quick polishing for the journals.

I am showing the two spec sheets for the HLA and SLA cams. The SLA is the only cams for sale.

In case anyone wondering, I used Interprep 890905 BeeHive valve springs. In KLZE heads Interprep Performance Tuning
