Was going to pick up my taxes today and started up th ol' 3 and the Check Engine Light was lit and not turnin off. (ODO 938miles) Took it in to the dealer. Head service guy tells me it's probably the solenoid in the gas tank. He said it was a problem with the 3 and that Mazda was going to issue a recall on the part in a few weeks. Something about not being able to maintain pressure properly. I'm going to bring it in tomorrow get issued a rental just to make sure. Anyone have a CEL related to this or if you have heard anything about it? I'll update this post tomorrow nite and put up the computer codes if i can get them.

Update On Recall/tsb
well got the 3 back and this is what the work order sez:
customer states check engine light on
check and advise
purge solenoid failure
diag and found that code P0456 EVAP small leak and perform
purges solenoid failure R/R and replace and check operation.
also awaiting for PCM reflash. op#F0008XDX/F0621XRX
the service guy said he would call me when the reflash software update arrives and will flash my computer. he said the recall will be issued in about two weeks or so.
about the CEL for the coolant temp sensor, I may be wrong on this but i think that the coolant temp and airbag light problems were both fixed after the 10/03 batch of cars. dunno for sure.

Good analogy. The CEL will stay on until it is reset for fixed by the dealer.
