In the middle of my first engine swap…(biting nails). Well, I stupidly bolted the torque converter to the flex plate instead of putting it inside the transmission first, and I torqued the bell housing bolts down, and there was a lot of resistance. Here’s where it’s confusing… I was using two tires and a joist to help line up the trans and the engine. I heard a loud pop during the mating. Under the engine block are two fork like pieces and they were pulling on the outside of the tire. (Basically using them as a skid) The sound did seem like the tire and the fork was in a bind and it finally released pressure. Think when a tire shop airs up a tire quickly. I’ve also read that this could have been me “popping” the oil pump.
Is there any way of knowing whether or not I broke the transmission oil pump before I put all of this back together?I have a little bit of play in and out on the inner Shaft.
Any help would mean so much!
