this is why i don't see them as compare-able. the d9 with the nav is like more than 3k while the n1 is 2.2k retail. that's an $800 difference, a pair of some VERY nice focal speakers. now, the d3 runs about 1.4k and the alpine nav, about .8-1k. that's not even the main factor in my reasoning. the d9 is market-ed as a mobile entertainment unit. the n1, is marketed as a nav and utility system. since i work at ccity, i have a good opportunity to get both alpine and pioneer pretty cheap. for now, the alpine d3 and nav is winning for me.Thug541 said:just go the avic-n1....if you have that kind of dough i guess spend near $3000 for the alpine and navi. But i got the whole package for just under $1500...and no problems. The nav is one of the best i've used.
servoeyes said:point #1: the avic's cost is 2k actually, and the d9's cost is currently a lot lower than before as it is last year's model. This one is on sale at crutchfield for 1600$.
point #2: you have to take into consideration the vid quality...in my opinion, the Alpine has better vid quality.
point #3: On top of all of that, consider this: You can always buy a Garmin or other unit to add to your car...but you'll always only have 1V preouts with the AVIC...so if the rest of the stuff in your car is amped, you'll need to turn the gains up more...lowering your overall SQ capabilities.
point #4: Both companies make less expensive models, must make sure to compare them for features and visual quality.
