PICS..painted fog lamps yellow removed side moldings

ok i didn't want to use a cover or that cramp that can melt to make my fog lights yellow. i didn't want to buy bulbs cause i just bought hyper white bulbs for my fog lights and don't want it to be just yellow at night. so here's how i did and what i did. i also removed my side moldings also sorry if the pics are poor quality all i have is a cell phone camera but here's everything:

For painting fog light yellow parts list :
-Spray can of Krayon stain glass paint spray paint color yellow ( I bought this at a local crafts store. This was the only place i could find it. it's for making or painting stain glass art work but works great for glass fog lights platics will work to. I'M POSTING A PIC. OF WHAT THE CAN LOOKS LIKE BELOW.

-Stubby Philips screw driver ( It's a tight fit so i don't know if a regular size screw driver will work. just use a stubby or go buy one and make you life easy ).
-A Rag or paper towels and some rubbing alcohol for cleaning the lens's.

ok to remove the lights locate the under cover right under the fog light assembly. remove the three screws on each side for the cover. once the screws are removed use your jack out of the back of your car to jack the front of the car alittle and crawl under it. locate the two wire connector for your fog lights and unplug them. also look at the harness you'll see the harness is cliped to the assembly un clip the harness using a flat screw driver plyers or what ever works for you. look at the fog assembly. there's four philips screws holding the the assembly to the bumper on each side two on the bottom and two on the top of the assembly.

Remove the screws and carefuly pull the whole assembly out from under the car. DON'T FORGET TO UNCLIP THE HARNESS FROM THE ASSEMBLY OR YOU'LL **** UP YOUR HARNESS. Take the rubbing alcohol and clean both lenses clear from any dirt bugs build up what ever you want a nice clean surfice. one everythings clean shake the spray can for two minutes and apply nice EVEN LIGHT COATS. IF YOU GO TOO HEAVY ON COAST IT WILL RUN OR FISH EYE AND LOOK LIKE CRAP. spray light coats waiting 45 minutes between coats to apply another. I did about 5 coats just to be safe. don't worry if the paint gets on the black brakets of the housing for the lights you won't see it but if your anal go ahead and tap stuff off it's not needed though trust me.

once done painting wait about 2-3 hours for the paint to dry touch the outside edges that can't be seen once installed if it's not tachy anymore it's safe to re-install. CAREFULLY RE-INSTALL IN REVERSE ORDER BE CAREFUL NOT TO SRATCH THE FOG LIGHT FACE OR IT'LL SCRAP OFF THE PAINT. tighten the four screws then plug in the connector back up and then re attach the harness to the bracket and re-install the three screws for the bottom splash cover. you're done. i'll get a night shot with a better camera but here's some pics of my car. the yellow is just dark enough it looks lighter in the pics but it's just my crappy camera everyone loves how it came out on my car. here's the pics below of everything next i'll post about how to remove the side moldings

removing side moldings is really easy but my car has only 4,000 miles so it may be alittle easier for me but here's everything.

-nice wax and applicator pad. ( I use eagle 1 nano wax works great or ZANO brothers but i was out of ZANO so the eagle stuff worked just as good )
-Adhesive remover or earaser tool. I'm a mechanic so my tool guy sells this big eraser that goes on a drill and removes the addhesive but adhesive remove is easy to come by and works just as well.
-Heat gun or good hair dryer.
-Plastic chisle or if you have good finger nails that'll work too. :-)

ok if it's really cold outside like in balitmore right now where i live. put your car for a couple hours in a room temperature area or garage it'll make the adhesive come off easier. once warm use the hair dryer or heat gun and run it along the trim pieces back and forth don't keep it in one spot for too long just nice quick even strokes.

once that is done use the plastic chilse.... pry tool.... or finger nails to pull back on the trim molding and GENTLY pry back and remove it nice and slow and easy. if it's like my car barely and adhesive sticked to the car but once everything is removed use the adhesive remover and a rag to remove anything that stuck to the door.

once thats all removed just go over the area thats now clean of anything left over resadew and use your wax of choice the clean and blend everything. thats it your done. took me all but five minutes to do.

Your moldings are only double sided taped on your car so i saved mine in case i ever get rid of it to re-install just remove the tap and put some new stuff on there.

The fogs really don't look bad. You are in need of a better camera though. Those pics weren't worth posting. (doughpoke)

yea sorry i asked for a digital camera for christmas but i guess santa skipped my house on that one LOL. but i'll try we got one at my work i'll try to get better pic.'s the paint works great it's a little exspensive for the tiny can it was $8 is what i paid for such a little can i think it's over priced but it's the only stuff i've found that works great.

I used the same stuff. ive been using that stuff for years. Good choice.

Has your long term experience been good with this stained glass paint? I would be concerned with its durability, but I would like to hear your real world results.

yea it just snowed here the yesterday so far the salt has not affected it but to touch it up is no big deal the lights come out with just seven screws on each side. three for the bottom covers each and four for each housing.
