Pics of Titanium Flash over Meteor Gray

I'm waiting to see a hooked-up titanium flash. That's a good color, and a unique one. TBH that would have been my choice if it was available.

You're a legend!!!

...but you've got me scratching my head once again! Initially I had my mind set on the TiFlash, as I didn't feel the Meteor Grey was a dark enough grey (after visiting a dealer, but no TiFlash CX-5 at the dealer). After looking at the Photo thread, I kind of didn't like how the TiFlash looked in full sunlight (seemed too light and faded), while many member photos of their Meteor Grey seemed darker. I had seen a couple of grey's on the road and they also seemed quite dark.

What I like about the TiFlash is that it has 'personality', it changes dramatically, while the downside of the grey is that it's grey, very common, very ...meh, ...but when it isn't in full light it looks nice and stealthy!

In your photos the grey once again doesn't seem dark enough, but these variances in photos could/does have to do with the auto exposure on camera phones. I think my local dealer has the CX-5 GT in both TiFlash and Meteor Grey, so I'll ask them to be parked side by side to settle this dilemma!

What's your reasoning for going with the Titanium Flash color over the Grey?

This is also a great video to compare all the CX-5 colors side by side in equal lighting conditions.

For what it's worth, I wanted TiFlash at first but ended up with a Meteor Gray. My reasoning was the TiFlash/bronze color looks great and unique, but seems to be a current/recent trend of brown/bronze shades. Not sure how long it'll last. Since I plan to keep the car for a long time, the more 'boring' Meteor Gray should prove to be a more timeless/classic choice. (Along with white)

I still do a double take when I see a TiFlash on the road tho. Great color.

My reasoning is that its different. Im so sick of seeing black, white, and gray on the road, although the gray or silver would be my second choices, I just like that its different and that it'll hopefully hide dirt better lol.

In the true sunlight, its almost tan. In the dark it looks almost gray or black. Others have mentioned it looking almost "camo" colored and Im ok with that. Hopefully once Im ready to resell someone will want the "rare" color but for now Im buying this for me!

Well after you lower it and put some aftermarket wheels it will look tight.

I had kind of written off the Titanium flash, but I kind of like it. I wish the silver was darker. I am in the market for a cx-5, and had been considering red, gray, crystal blue.

The last thing I want is to blend in with the environment. Life is short as it is and the last thing anyone needs is to have their life terminated early or reduced to whole or partial paralysis due to a driver who says "I looked but I didn't see anyone coming". That's why it's pure white for me. When I'm driving, I can barely tell what color it is (except to the extent that drivers are much less likely to pull out right in front of me) and I'm not so vain to really care how "pretty" it is sitting by the curb. I guess I'm lucky that I think the Pearl White looks pretty good anyway. If not for the visibility thing I would have a gray one in a flash.

Took ownership of the Titanium yesterday. I love it, love the fact that it's different. I hear you about "blending in" but I will also say I've been a passenger in an accident where the car was bright metallic TEAL...I mean its a blue version of a traffic cone, and we still got hit, so while its something to consider, I think cell phones and 100 other factors are at play at any given time. (I'm also a motorcycle rider and just the fact that cars now sell a "lane departure warning" feature is certainly scary.

Congrats!! Please do post new photos of your car in the Photos thread, I'd love to see it in a non-dealership environment. :D

Saw a TiFlash this morning on the way to work. Even as I was alongside of it I wasn't totally sure it was TiFlash it was that dark (overcast morning today). I was impressed with how it looked! Plenty dark for me, yet has a sense of vibrancy in full light.

I didn't mean to imply that brighter colors are completely immune to being in accidents, just that it adds a considerable safety margin. I had a stealth grey Subaru wagon and it was shocking how often people stopped, looked both ways and pulled right out in front of me. If my reflexes were not so quick I would have smashed that car up twice (and there were lots of other close calls that were easier to avoid).

I wear a white motorcycle helmet for the same reason and it makes a noticeable difference.

Titanium Flash was my first choice, but my wife fell in love with the Soul Red. So we compromised and and got my second choice, Deep Blue Crystal. Love those chameleon colors like the TF and DCB that change their hue under different light settings. Both also take a nice deep shine when clean, but the TF seems to me like it will be more forgiving about hiding a dirty finish. If I decide to get a Mazda 3 wagon when i go to to replace my second car in a couple of years, it's definitely gonna be in TF if the color is still available.
