PG core bracket rusted..with pics

For those with the PG garage FMIC kit, did you bracket start to rust like this? I noticed it a few weeks after the install. It has now been almost 3 months of having the kit and it disgusts me when I look under my hood, you can't help notice it. So over the weekend I took of the whole kit also to examine the condition of the pipes and such. Things looked good but the pipe that goes down then engine back looks like it's getting banged/rubbed up against to where it took of the black coating. Well the bracket I decided to sand down, clean, and paint it with some Rust-oleum paint. Here are the pics so far. Now it's like new

Then after sanding I rinsed with water, dried, then painted

yeah mine did that too bro. i noticed it when i took it off and sold the kit. I painted but the paint came off and rust was pretty not good. good luck

looks like surface rust to me, nothing to worry about, its a normal chemical reaction that occurs. but it should come painted or be painted by the user before install for sure. doesnt look good and over time will become a problem

Yea it sanded off pretty easy but like you stated, over time it would have been a problem. It also started to drip rust residue on the top of the core and of course on the support bar the bracket mounts to.

Looks like you did a great job. Hopefully the Rustoleum holds up well for you. Maybe get it PC if it happens again?

Thanks. The can claims it stops rust but if it does I will def. get it powder coated or let Ken know of my problem

mine is rusted too, i really don't want to take it off to sand and paint but maybe in the summer i will have to.
