Painted my calipers...

I agree about the wire retainers... you need some contrast to make them look authentic from the factory... plus they would've chipped the first time you changed out your pads... Here's mine.. I like your stickers waay better though..

That's a really vivid red you got there! I love red just because it's such an attention grabber... you can actually see them through the wheels. I like all the unpainted metal you left out in the middle too, nice contrast. And if you really like my decals that much better, how bout this, we'll just trade cars... I mean, I'd be glad to help you out and it'd be so much easier to just trade keys (for good) :D

HAHA, I'd almost do it... my wife was backed into last week and I'm waiting to see what the insurance says....

I'm probably going to redo mine anyways... I actually put down 3 coats of white, installed the sticker, then put down 3 more coats of red, removed the sticker and put 3 coats of clear on... so mine is actually paint... it might be hard to do that with your decal... I might try it though...

Oh, good idea! Definitely better durability than the decals. So far they seem to be staying on perfect, but it's only been a week so...

I just spent a Saturday painting my calipers and will post the pics when I get my new wheels this week. Thanks for the tips and pics. I painted mine red because I think it will look better with my new wheels.

Thanks for the idea - I just got my stickers yesterday and am

painting this weekend, I also am doing red. I bought high temp red and high temp clear coat - my plan was to paint the red, then after placing the stickers, put a coat (or 2) on of the clearcoat - including the sticker - pics up soon..........

Sweet look. I just got my G2 paint kit and plan to get some decals too. I'll post up when i have a chance. Did you get the Mazda 3 caliper kit? and then you just added the symbol to the front of the mazda sign. sweet look man.

Looks great. You don't need high temp paint or masking if you are brushing on. I've used a small can of Rustoleum for many of my cars calipers and it does an amazing job for only $3-4 at most.

phinally got around to doing mine. went with dark gray metallic engine paint and peeled off the mazda decals after to reveal the original caliper color.

^^ (bump)

Me likes, especially the decal (or non-decal?) effect. The white MZ5s get good choices for caliper colors...
