Just finished ordering a set of 5Zigen FN01R-C in Silver, 18x7.5 +43. 17.5 lbs per wheel. Same weight as Enkei RPF1 or RS+M, but ~$50 cheaper per wheel.

Also on tap are Yokohama S-Drive 225/45/18.

Package deal including tuner lugs, hub rings, chrome valve stems (which I will replace with OEM TPMS & stems), tax, and shipping, $1,500. Don't know if it's kosher to mention the source, since they aren't a sponsor here, but the customer service on the phone was fantastic. 2nd time I have ordered wheels from them.

Will post up pics on the car once I install them.

nice i have 5zigens too and i love them

good thing u didnt get a flat color, cuz the durability is horrible, i have the GN+ Pro Racers in flat bronze, and they have tons of chips on them
and i drive careful

One drawback to the Metro Grey paint is that you're pretty much limited to either silver/chrome, or goofy colors. Maybe a bronze or muted gold, but that's too "WRX" for me. So, since I can't pull off lime green or hot orange, and any shade of grey/anthracite/black would just look like a bad match for the paint, I decided to go with silver, and get something clear coated for easier brake dust removal. Maybe I'll even slather some wheel wax on them before I go abuse them.

Now I need to paint my farking calipers. Time to pick an accent color scheme for my MS3, I suppose...

I've been looking for a wheel that will go well with my titanium MS6. I think these are the ones. Thanks for the unintentional help!

Looks like nice rims. Any particular reason you went 225/45? I've just heard a couple people having rubbing issues with that setup. Anyway cant wait to see pics on the car.

Does anyone have a detailed technical spec on these? How do they hold up on the track? (Circuit, not drag)

good choice! Can't wait for the pics. I have bronze FNs... the original version not the new hot version. They've been on my car for close to 5 years now and they've held up great.

S-Drives don't come in 215/45, so I figured I'd go that tiny bit wider. Didn't think that'd be enough to cause rubbing. Guess I'll find out.

And yeah, I'd love to have a set of lightweight forged wheels, but my absolute price ceiling was $300 per wheel (Which rules out Volk, BBS, etc. instantly) and I like very clean, simple wheels- 5 to 7 single spokes, no machined lips, no color splashes, etc.

I was almost ready to go with Enkei RS+M or RPF1, but these came up significantly cheaper at slightly lower weight (Like .1-.3 lb, at least according to 1010tires).

No matter what wheels I choose, I'd surely see something lighter, cheaper, prettier that would turn my head later, so rather then never buy for fear of what may come later, I pulled the trigger and I'm sure I'll be happy with them.

Of course, if I intend to post pics, I may have to actually wash my car. *shudder*

I havent found too many tires that come in a 215/45, I currently have 225/40's on. Only off about 3mph at 70.

Haha suck it up and wash the car! I know people on here that wash their car at least twice a week. I'm not saying you have to go that far but for some new rims why not wash it.

I was looking at some Kumho tires... I think they're Ecsta ASX or something like that. They're an all-season tire that comes in 215/45ZR18. They were pretty cheap with really good reviews (on this forum and tirerack). I think that line of tires also has a summer tire, just in case you're interested.

And yes, I'm one of those people who washes the car twice a week...

Hahhah, yeah, I'll wash the car for the wheel install. Trying to think of a new spot (for me) around here to get some nice pics. So many beaches & bridges, etc., it can be hard to choose.

Then again, with my photography skills, it may not matter. I could go park it in front of 7-11 and get the same results.

Oh, and I tried Kumho Ecsta MX once upon a time. Wore them out in no time flat. What I like about the S-Drives is that they stick like other high performance tires, but I got 50% longer tread life out of them than most other tires, and more than double what I got from my Kumhos. (This was all on MINIs, but still.) So even if they cost 20-30% more, in the long run, they cost less per mile in my experience.

I rather take hard to choose a spot than hard to find a spot. Not much around my area in the way of scenery.

My stock tires will hopefully last through the rest of this summer so i'm hoping to not have to worry about tires until next spring. I've got some decent pirelli all seasons for my stock rims that arent too bad either if push comes to shove.

the 5zigen website says they weigh 18-19 pounds. interesting. good choice anyway. too bad the MS3 cant fit low offset wheels. the concave look these wheels have is awesome.
