Mazdaspeed 3
Ok so I took my speed3 07 into the dealer for the second time because I have this Horrible rattling sound coming from the left side door.. which the first time mysteriously couldn't hear. This time I make them sit in the car and I have a song right at a certain base part.. and he hears it loud and clear.. Anyhow turns out on the speed3 GT the sub which is located under the passenger seat has an air intake to the sub woofer directly located right next to the side where coins could fall from someone pocket. Ok there was literally 3 dollars of loose coins in the frakin sub. Great design. I'm going to home depot and puting a piece of wire mesh over it and zip tie it around the intake. Unbelievable

Ever so slightly off topic, but since you asked about a trunk sub,..

I'm working on a stealth buildup of a 12" sub in the trunk of my MS3. The factory trunk mat will cover it all, except on my build I will have the sub's magnet facing up, which takes a tiny bit of trunk space, you could easily build a system so it all stays under the factory trunk mat.

That post is HERE on our this forum, HERE on DIY forum (great place to learn, IMO), and here's a pic of what I'm talking about.

An amp (or amps, if you're upgrading the rest of the system like I am) can still fit on top of the spare tire, meaning you don't lose the spare at all.

Its been discussed, I'm sure...the Bose sub is so weaksauce. Hell, even a TangBand super slim 10" or something similar like Blaupunkt slimline would still fit under the seat, but still produce 400% better bass.

This may be the only time you went to a Mazda Dealer and left with more money than you came with.

agreed. Actually, the only time I ever paid a single dime to a Mazda dealership was when I handed them the check to buy my Protege5 three years ago.
